Remove invasive species and plant small pockets of forest gardens in healthy areas
Receive certification as a Level One Arboretum
Host monthly guided walks, as well as a community fall planting day, and a community winter tree thinning day
As funds allow, enhance the walking trail with benches and swings, and bridges over the muddy areas
Seed the meadow (which currently has warm summer grasses with very few pockets of wildflowers) with a mix of grasses and perennial wildflowers to amplify the beauty of the meadow garden while also providing food and support to the native wildlife
Begin planting plug perennial wildflower and perennial grass drifts in the meadow along the walking trail to quicken development of seeded meadow
Plant larger areas of forest garden to enhance the tree canopy and provide food to native wildlife and visitors to the Gardens
Finalize final landscape and garden design for the different areas
Host weekly guided walks, as well as more community work days per season
Begin installing and planting perennial gardens in wetland and forest areas; continue forest garden plantings
Plant regenerative orchard gardens on the outskirts of the meadow
Host community picking days where visitors come to freely pick and take fruit, nuts, and seeds home
Host workshops on topics such as native PA meadows, woods, and orchards; regenerative orchards and forest gardens; homesteading, lawn alternatives, etc.
